A Glengarry cap or bonnet made by the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) ca 1860 80, Quebec or Ontario, Canada. Entirely hand stitched and beaded these caps were made and sold to the numerous Scottish people in the vicinity. Made from Stroud cloth, local to where we have our studio, the cap has intricate glass beading with thistle and rose decoration. The cap or bonnet is fully lined in its original bottle green silk. Measurements: 28cm long 11.
